Welcoming Universities (an initiative of Welcoming Australia) is a member network to inspire and support Australian universities to develop a culture and practice of welcome, inclusion and belonging within their institutions, in the community and across the higher education sector.

This forum will provide key data for research being undertaken by Welcoming Universities staff Cate Gilpin and Olga Cherniak who are writing a paper titled The International Student Experience: sharing student centric perspectives on studying at Australian universities. As part of their research they are conducting face-to-face (in Melbourne and Brisbane) focus groups, as well as a survey, to collect the stories and experiences of international students in Australia.

Please join us for a relaxed, engaging conversation discussing international student experiences of studying in Australia over a catered lunch (lunch provided, please advise of dietary requirements).

PLEASE NOTE: The data collected through the focus groups and survey will not be shared with any third party and will be used only for the research project outlined above. And all participant information will be de-identified.
