Shark Workshop for Kids

Event description

Have you ever wondered...

* If sharks lay eggs or give birth to live young?

* How big the largest shark is?

* What the oldest living shark on the planet is?

* If megalodon still exists?

* What the smallest shark in the ocean is?

* What it means to be a marine biologist?

Join this 90-minute workshop hosted by shark biologist Amanda Elizabeth, host of Discovery Channel’s Shark Soup, to find out the answer to these questions and much more!

The workshop includes a 45-minute presentation that describes the incredible adaptations that sharks have evolved over millions of years, the different senses that allow them to find food, the many environments that they inhabit, how they eat and what makes a shark a shark!

Following the presentation, there will be a 45-minute activity-based workshop that offers an interactive and hands-on approach to learning about sharks.

This unique workshop allows participants to become immersed in the mysterious world of sharks, and is an exciting opportunity for children who love the marine environment or have ever dreamed of becoming a marine biologist.

This is a drop-off holiday program and children will be strictly supervised at all times.

Children are advised to wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle if required.

This is a fully supervised event, however, parents are welcome to attend but will require a ticket.

Duration: 90 minutes

Age: 6-11 years
