Event description

Please join us for a talk by Shawn Callahan on Gray Smith. Gray Smith was an Australian Modernist artist, poet and jeweller who was part of the Heide Circle. He was an active member of the Contemporary Art Society among contemporaries Sidney Nolan, Arthur Boyd and John Perceval. He was famously married to Australian painter Joy Hester until her tragic death to lymphoma in 1960. 

Shawn Callahan is the award-winning author of Putting Stories to Work and a globally recognised storytelling consultant and speaker. He is the son-in-law of the Australian modern artist Gray Smith and has a lifelong passion for Australian modern art.
