As part of our Sustainable House Day Building and Design Week, brought to you by the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources, we'll hear from builders and experts on how to have the best experience building or retrofitting a sustainable home.

Simon Clark, General Manager/Director at Sustainable Homes Melbourne

Simon has been in the construction industry since the year 2000 and a registered builder since 2009. He founded Sustainable Homes Melbourne in 2014 with the mission to transform Melbourne’s rundown old homes into beautiful, comfortable sustainable homes we can all be proud of. Simon is also a co-founder of Builders Declare Australia.

Simon is also the Founder of Build Cambodia Charity, and through yearly fundraisings, builds homes for those in need in rural Cambodia.

Kribashini Hannon, Director at BuildHer Collective

Kribashini fell in love with construction when she was only a child. Inspired by running around at her father’s glass factory while growing up in Wellington, NZ, Kribashini quickly developed a deep passion for Construction and Project Management. This resolve stuck with her through university, leading her to get her Bachelor’s Degree in Building Science from VU and a Master of Project Management from RMIT. Over 13 years later, Kribashini remains highly passionate about the built environment and spends time managing commercial projects. Having been through her own home renovation, Kribashini wants to share her insights, experience and knowledge with other like-minded women and help them feel confident about building.

Sustainable House Day is a national event by Renew, a non-profit organisation. Renew recognises that this event that takes place on the stolen lands of many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We will be directing 5% of all proceeds generated by these webinars to the Pay the Rent initiative, and 5% to Seed Indigenous Youth Climate Network.
