Who Codes? She Codes!
PERTH - Join us for a day of coding fun in a friendly and safe environment at Riff powered by Spacecubed in Perth CBD.
We offer beginner-level HTML & CSS, and Django & Python workshops, in a self-paced environment, mentored by industry professionals. PLUS we offer lunch, cupcakes and a quick dance break in the afternoon. No experience is necessary - just a laptop, a sense of adventure and a willingness to learn.
Our goal is to increase the diversity in the tech community, spark collaboration, creativity, and expand networks. If you've been curious about coding for a while, or are looking to brush up your skills, come along and join the fun.
Run Order
9am - arrival
9.20-10am - kickoff presentations, guest presenters and more
10am - Start coding through self paced tutorialsÂ
11am - (optional) Special workshop with Robert Walters Recruitment for advice about the tech market, how to brush up your CV and get ready for a career in tech.
12pm - lunch
2pm - stretch and cupcakes
4pm - show and tell, and workshop close!
FAQs:
Who is this event aimed at?
Women* of any age with basic knowledge of working with a computer. We've had people of ages 5-80 take part, all those under 18 must have a guardian or parent present.
Do I need to know anything technical?
No - this is a workshop designed for beginners. These are self-paced tutorials, there will be mentors on hand across the day to help out with any questions you might have.
Do I need to bring my own computer?
Yes, you do. We don't have laptops to spare, unfortunately.
