Event description

She Codes is a movement devoted to helping women or non-binary to up their tech skills and get into tech careers. 

Join us for a one day workshop centred around the themes of technology, learning, community building, connection, inspiration, and importantly, cupcakes.

We have four tutorials available:

• Learning fundamentals of website creation and hosting on Wordpress

• Fundamentals of code using HTML / CSS

• Building an interactive game in Python

• Building a blog with Django

Tutorials are self-paced. Various skill levels can participate in the day. This workshop is suitable for women and non-binary 16 years and older. Please bring your laptop with you, and any accessories you may require. A light lunch and our signature cupcakes are provided. Bookings are essential.

FAQs:

Who is this event aimed at?

Women* of any age with basic knowledge of working with a computer. We've had people of ages 5-80 take part, all those under 18 must have a guardian or parent present.

Do I need to know anything technical?

No - this is a workshop designed for beginners. These are self-paced tutorials, there will be mentors on hand across the day to help out with any questions you might have.

Do I need to bring my own computer?

Yes, you do. We don't have laptops to spare, unfortunately.
