She Codes Plus is coming back to Perth for 2021!
Event description
Join us for a night of champagne, cupcakes and networking as we celebrate the next She Codes Plus program in Perth for 2021-2022.Â
Now in its third iteration for Perth, we are so excited to be able to bring you back this six month program, with some new partners on board!
This event will provide you with an opportunity to ask questions, soak up some inspiration, and get practical advice for taking the next step in your tech career. We'll have mentors, alumni and She Codes Founder, Kate Kirwin, available to talk to you about alternative pathways into tech.Â
It is also your exclusive opportunity to find out more about the She Codes Plus course which is kicking off in November 2021, as well as hear tips and tricks to help you with your application.
As well as exploring the pathways available in the program, we'll be announcing our Emergence Scholarships! The focus for these are to contribute to closing the gap on socioeconomic disadvantage, and champion individuals who may have been unexposed to similar opportunities in the past. Find out more about our Emergence Funding here.
About our Panel
In addition to hearing from the She Codes team we are joined by the amazing Nadia Reyhani, Kiri Mews, Sasha Johnson, and Kat Gledhill-Tucker to talk about their experiences as mentors/alumni of She Codes, and being women in tech.
What is She Codes Plus?
The Plus course is an alternate pathway for women to enter tech careers. Plus is a fully sponsored, six month course for 23 women, offered part-time and outside of working hours. It is a blend of online mentoring (via our Slack community) and in person, weekly, content sessions.Â
Plus will teach from beginner level right through to Junior Developer level over six months. With a tech stack of HTML/CSS, Python, Django, JavaScript and React, while also teaching how to build and use REST APIs, cloud deployment with Heroku, version control with Git, agile methodologies, and core skills.
How can I apply?
We'd definitely recommend coming along to this event before applying, as you'll gain a deeper understanding of what's included and if the program is the right step forward for you. And, applications will open during the event! So what better time to bring all of your questions, and have them answered on the spot.
