    We’re soo excited to introduce to you this sweet soul Alice Sip!

    @kindredroad
    @canvas.coworking
    @flockevents

    A native of Hawke’s Bay, Alice studied and performed professionally as a classical musician before starting a new journey as an entrepreneur. Familiar with performing on stage with the likes of New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, her journey overseas saw her working at an events company alongside her studies which fuelled her love for weddings and the events industry.

    After starting an event floral company, she returned to New Zealand with her husband to start Flock Events. Within a year, Flock had launched a second location in Auckland and has subsequently launched in Central Otago employing 18 full time staff members.

    Mid pandemic, Alice started Kindred Road, a homewares store and cafe that now has a new brick and mortar location in the heart of Hastings. Seeing the opportunity for a modern coworking space in the same complex, Alice began Canvas Coworking space a few metres away from Kindred Road, allowing guests the ability to frequent both companies.

    In her other life, Alice is a mother to 1 year old twins, a 4 year old and is also the Director of Festival Opera and the President of Hawke’s Bay Orchestra. Alice loves to encourage women in smart, ethical business and loves to explore strategic and business growth within personal skillsets and abilities.

    Driven by a deep connection to her roots, Jonique thought about who she was and where she was from. Waiapu Road is where she grew up, the road she still travels to return to her Ūkaipō. This was her inspiration behind Waiapu Road.

    What began as a creative outlet has become an established brand known across Aotearoa.

    Launching with a unique style of 'Iwi' earrings designed by Jonique, Waiapu Road's success was apparent immediately after a sell-out launch.

    Now you find the Waiapu Road signature mugs adorned with a punny twist on te reo, sell out within minutes of being restocked, accessories that Waiapu Roads loyal following can't get enough of and inclusive clothing that is comfortable for all wahine/kōtiro in constant high demand.

    In 4 years, Jonique has steered Waiapu Road to unprecedented heights as Waiapu Road has grown from strength to strength.

    From products taking over her rental, to purchasing a new family home and moving Waiapu Road into its' own Commercial Headquarters and being able to hire staff.

    She has also been able to travel with whanau, to China to meet with suppliers, and recently received the 2023 Emerging Business Award at the MWDI Māori Women's Business Awards.

    The heart of Waiapu Road is an extension of Joniques' unique and signature style. People are drawn to Jonique's creativity, dedication to quality products and willingness to share every aspect of her journey, proving she is a true leader and inspiration to wahine and pakihi māori.
