Shed Talks: Community Resilience

MakerSpace and Head, Heart and Hands together are excited to launch 'Shed Talks', evening sessions of local stories, ideas and presentations.
Local community members will be talking for approximately 15 minutes each on their area of expertise, passion, or their story. There will be opportunity for questions and conversation over complimentary refreshments. Â
- Wednesday 26 May from 7pm - 8:30pm
- Theme: 'Community Resilience'
- Cost: $5 (free for MakerSpace members and pensioners)
Speakers include:
Olivia Tape
Hear Olivia's story of the Mud Army during the Port Macquarie flooding event in March 2021.Â
Wayne Ulrich
Wayne will share his story in the flooding crisis in the Philippines and aiding recovery for resilient communities.Â
Valerieanne Byrnes
Hear her take on resilience as a community development advocate, working in remote Australia, Papua New Guinea and PNG and the broader Pacific.
Robbie Lloyd
Will talk of his experience as a frontline worker on the Global Mental Health movement and project to honour First Nations healers and medicines alongside western ways.
The Community Resilience Shed Talk is supported by the Head, Heart and Hands (HHH) project, which seeks to increase community knowledge, skills, experience and connections in order to be better prepared to adapt and respond to the adverse conditions driven by climate change.
