Tectonic SHIFT Festival 2024: Flowing Chaos

WHAT IS SHIFT?

SHIFT Festival is a technicolor party at the base of a Volcano; it's a disco oasis in the desert. SHIFT is a celebration of love, creativity, freedom, and the playful human spirit. SHIFT Festival is ever-changing. This year’s SHIFT theme is Flowing Chaos! Just like lava… Bring your passion, your energy, and go with the flow.

SHIFT is a decommodified event. That means there is no vending or sales with the exception of ice. There will be no food or water for sale. Want to learn more? Read our Things to Know page.

WHO

You! And you! And you! And all your friends! SHIFT embraces and celebrates humans of all ages, races, shapes, sizes, sexual orientations, and gender expressions! All KIND and RESPECTFUL folks are welcome at SHIFT! It is a family event (minors must be supervised by guardians) that welcomes people of all walks of life! We only ask that you treat your fellow revelers with respect, and practice clear, unambiguous CONSENT! Read our Code of Conduct.

No pets of any kind are allowed at SHIFT. You will be sent home.

GET INVOLVED
We are always looking for volunteer help! SHIFT is a volunteer-run festival! From lifeguards, to fire safety, to LNT crews, we are looking for folks of all skill sets to help make SHIFT the magical experience it is! Volunteering is a great way to get a behind the scenes look at the operations of an immersive festival, get fed yummy food, and offset the cost of your ticket, among other perks! WHERE

SHIFT Festival is located in the Central Oregon high desert at a beloved ranch just south of Grass Valley. It’s a scenic 2.5 hour drive east of Portland, 4.5 hours south of Seattle, or 2 hours north of Bend! Exact location will be provided closer to the event.

WHEN

SHIFT 2024 takes place July 25-29th! Attendees may begin arriving on Thursday, revelry goes through Sunday, and everyone must GTFO by 2pm on Monday.

PARKING / RV + CAR CAMPING PASSES

Walk-in camping is included in your ticket price. You must unload your stuff and move your car to parking. But if you’d like to camp inside your RV/trailer or next to your car, you must purchase an RV/Car Camping pass from the Humanitix ticketing site.

If you elect to “walk-in” camp, you’ll be able to drive up to unload your belongings, then swiftly move your car to the nearby parking area before setting up camp.

RVs and car camping will be interspersed with tent camping. Some areas are off-limits to RV/car camping. Don’t worry, there’s plenty of room for everyone!

ART

Throughout the grounds of SHIFT festival, you’ll encounter art of all sorts! Artists from all over the Pacific Northwest bring their statues, light structures, fire art, and interactive installations– a true and proud display of the talent and heart of this beautiful corner of the world! If you’re interested in bringing your art to SHIFT, keep an eye out for our art form, which goes live on 4/1!

STAGES

Volcano: The Tectonic Stage is the immersive and fiery center of all things funkadelic, where Tectonic’s devotees gather at night to shake their booties to electrifying beats into the morning! Expect a variety of sonic offerings– the Volcano doesn’t discriminate! Bass, House, Techno, and everything in between!

Beach: During the daytime, it’s not hard to find the party at SHIFT! Just head downhill to the beach! We love the beach so much, we brought it to the desert! This oasis is jam-packed with all types of SHIFT participants, reveling in the sun, dancing to a diverse array of beats, taking rest under the shade of the surrounding trees, or venturing out with their inflatables to the floating Tiki Bar! All with majestic Mt. Hood in the distance.

Nasty’s: Nasty’s is SHIFT’s very own dive bar, freakshow, and live music venue! Whether you’re catching a drag performance, a rocking live band, a circus act, or just stopping in for a mystery drink and a heckle, you’re sure to have a great (or downright horrible) time at Nasty’s!

WORKSHOPS

Yup, Workshops will be coming back to SHIFT. Movement arts, yoga, stimulating discussions, survival skills, and more. If you’re interested in sharing your expertise and bringing your workshop to SHIFT, keep an eye out for our workshop form, which goes live on 4/1!

THEME CAMPS

Do you and your friends want to set up a theme camp at SHIFT? We love having folks join us with food & drink camps, chill lounges, sound stages, and more. Stay tuned for an application and more info!
