About this workshop

Facilitating groups that challenge inequality and shift power is both an art and a skill.

This interactive two-day workshop, co-designed and co-facilitated by Women's Health in the South East (WHISE) and the Groupwork Centre, will give you the tools, techniques, and confidence to create truly inclusive spaces, where all voices are heard and meaningful change can happen.

Together, we’ll build on existing knowledge and learn from each other’s experiences in the field, recognising the wisdom and practice that participants bring to the room.

You’ll strengthen your ability to apply Gender Transformative Practice, use an intersectional lens in real time, and navigate the complexities of group dynamics in pursuit of equity and social justice.

Who this is for

  • Gender equity & health promotion practitioners

  • Women’s health and wellbeing professionals

  • Equity and social change advocates

  • Anyone facilitating groups that work for fairness, safety, and inclusion

What you’ll learn

By the end of this workshop, you will:

  • Facilitate equitably to shift and equalise power in groups

  • Deepen your understanding of gender transformative practice

  • Sharpen your intersectional lens and recognise how power and privilege show up in groups

  • Create safety and inclusivity, ensuring all voices can contribute

  • Respond effectively to backlash and resistance in social change work

  • Lead courageous conversations and navigate challenging dynamics

  • Commit to Radical Self and Collective Care

  • Put Cultural Humility into practice

Why join us?

This is a rare opportunity to learn alongside WHISE and the Groupwork Centre, deepen your facilitation skills, and exchange expertise with other practitioners who are equally committed to creating equity and shifting power in workshop and training environments.
