Shine a light on Professional Supervision: Supporting and retaining our workforce (Online)
Event description
This is a series of two virtual Professional Supervision forums, which will be followed by targeted professional development workshops for deeper dives into practice and application.
Professional supervision is critical in supporting individual practice development, staff retention, and organisational improvement. Yet there remains ongoing challenges in providing high quality and sustainable supervision across our sector.
Given the complex, emotionally demanding nature of the work, this is a valuable opportunity to connect and work towards a clearer and shared understanding of how to embed effective professional supervision sustainably across our workforce.
About the Series:
- High profile presenters to share emerging evidence, models and approaches
- Hear from diverse perspectives and viewpoints
- Inspire and share understanding and learning
- Generate ideas for ongoing support e.g., share supervision models, group peer support and programs
Forum 2: So What and Now What?
Date: 24 June, 9am-12pm
Share emerging evidence and mobilising knowledge into action. Generating new ideas and thinking to help inform what now?
Participants are encouraged to register for both forums, however you are also welcome to register for one, depending on your capacity and availability.
The forums are free to attend for specialist domestic and family violence, sexual assault or women’s health services funded by the Office for Women and Violence Prevention, Department of Justice and Attorney-General. Please register by clicking on the 'Get Tickets' button.

Learning Objectives:
The aims of this program is to bring people together in a proactive, curious and strategic learning space to:
- enable a mature and provocative exploration and critical reflection of Professional Supervision and its value in supporting and retaining our staff
- mobilise knowledge, experiential learning and emerging evidence into action;
- generate new ideas and thinking, particularly in overcoming barriers; and
- provide a foundation to shape and deliver ongoing professional supervision programs and shared model implementation if required, particularly in regional/remote areas
Who should attend
This series has been carefully pitched for all levels of staff and inclusive of all roles (supervisor and supervisees) working across the gender-based violence workforce. Where possible we encourage participation of multiple team members, including service leaders and managers.
