Idan Shoham (aka Shmoné) is coming to CYKAS!
Idan AKA Shmoné is a multi instrumentalist, loop artist and singer songwriter from Israel, who performs a collective of covers and original music from different genres. With full energy in each show, Idan has been constantly travelling and performing in Australia for the past 3 years.He started his journey in Western Australia and has since lapped the continent twice in his van, performing in every town and collaborating with local artists and now he's touring up to Cairns due to his new live looping release - Wafaring Stranger!
The Shmoné show includes various genres of music, from Folk through Reggae to Electro Blues woven together with saxophone, guitar, bass, drum machine and vocals with Idan live looping on stage.
For this special event we will have a special guest - Jacob Vincent!
Brisbane ‘Alt-Country’ troubadour Jacob Vincent channels the spirit of songwriters such as Paul Kelly & Troy Cassar-Daley to find a unique style & sound somewhere between blue collar Australian story tellers and Americana mainstays Neil Young & Jason Isbell. A ‘songwriters-songwriter’ Jacob has performed at shows with Golden Guitar winning artists such as Luke O’Shea, Kevin Bennett & Michael Waugh. As well as being crowned ‘Best of The Buskers’ at the 2022 Tamworth Country Music Festival, and a Grand Finalist in the 2023 Toyota Star Maker competition and performing at the festival’s Official Opening Concert. Closer to home Jacob has supported acts at Brisbane venues such as ‘The Outpost’, ‘The Brightside’, & It’s Still A Secret, just to name a few Over the last couple of years he has quietly amassed a catalogue of songs that are set to appear his debut album in early 2024, and assembled a band of seasoned musicians, affectionately named ‘The Liabilities’. Capable of dynamically serving the acoustic sensibilities of his songs in one moment or turning up their amps more akin to the classic pub rock we all know and love.
