Shoalhaven Co-Housing Initiative - Nowra, NSW
Event description
You’ve expressed an interest in the establishment of a cohousing project in the Shoalhaven, and to create an alternative housing solution to address isolated living and housing affordability.
If this
initiative is still important to you, the Shoalhaven Co-housing
Initiative invites you to come along to a one day workshop. You’ll be
part of this newly forming group bringing together their respective
needs and abilities to co-create this vision and strategic plan in the
Shoalhaven
Where: CWA Hall, 39 Berry St. Nowra (In the Lane - Parking available behind the cinema)
The invitation is open to those already involved in building some momentum via our 2 public meetings earlier this year, and at some of our smaller gatherings since. We would really value your input at this early stage of visioning and community forming. The participatory workshop will enable you to be part of the design and planning process.
Importantly, we encourage you to actively invite your connections and contacts who may be interested to explore cohousing in the Shoalhaven, as they will be most welcome.
What we hope to achieve: The purpose of the workshop is many fold.
- Share what we have learnt so far, including the common intention and mutual needs of the participants
- To get to know each other better, intersperse the workshops with social interaction, including lunch and over a meal in a local restaurant or pub.
- Explore the direction this group would like to take in the Shoalhaven (each community is different).
- We plan to create our joint Vision Statement, and we’d like to be and do it together, with as much input as possible from all those interested
- Create a Practical Invitation to the wider community for the next step of this process, including interested stakeholders who can support this initiative
- Establish a set of principles that underpin a successful, collaborative community experience and align values with actions
- Set clear visibility on each parties’ expectation on timelines and not negotiables for those wanting to commit at this stage
- Be clear on a pathway forward in terms of what needs to be prioritised as milestones.
