Shoalhaven Ending Homelessness Together Event

Homelessness NSW are hosting a Shoalhaven leaders briefing and regional launch of the Homelessness NSW ‘Ending Homelessness Together Campaign’. This briefing is being delivered in partnership with Supported Accommodation and Homelessness Services Shoalhaven Illawarra (SAHSSI). Key representatives from across the area as well as local media will be in attendance.

The event will be a chance to share our campaign as well as hear from a panel of local experts who want to work together to end homelessness – this includes representatives from business, services providers, and people with lived experience of homelessness. 

We know homelessness is increasing in Shoalhaven and services and housing stock is unable to meet need. Services are struggling to keep up with demand from people seeking help. Working together across all levels of Government, industry, and community can ensure everyone in the Shoalhaven can be supported to access a safe home where they can thrive.  

Homelessness NSW have analysed the research and engaged broadly with academics, people with lived experience, industry leaders, and front-line workers to develop three achievable solutions: 

1. Invest in increased and sustained supply of social and affordable housing   

2. Fund support services to meet current and future demand 

3. Coordinate across all levels of government and community for collective impact to end homelessness
