SHOREBIRD POSTCARD ART COMPETITION AGES 7 - 12
Event description
The ANSTO Shorebirds Competition introduces students to shorebirds that rely almost entirely on our wetlands and coastal areas for their survival. The competition offers over $3500 in prizes!! The sessions will be hosted at the KAN Shed by both an Environmental Scientist and an Artist specialising in painting Kimberley wildlife. With guidance from experts in both art and science, the kids will create a postcard with a local shorebird on it, and the works will be sent in bulk to ANSTO in Canberra for inclusion in the national competition. The top ten images will also be included in special postcard packs that will go to other shorebird sites that our birds visit on their annual migration.Â
