SHORELINE
Description
FOLLOW THE FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND...
Upon arrival, you are invited to slowly and quietly 'follow the footprints in the sand' into an immersive tranquil experience of visual awareness and deep listening.
The footprints will lead you into the hall, firstly through an art installation of floating tendrils of a nearby kelp forest, created in draping ribbons by today's feature artist Ruth Lindsell.
Next, into a circular walk inside an art exhibition of locally inspired paintings, sculpture, jewellery, ceramics and textiles, which will be available for purchase as the final event of the afternoon. (red dots are available on call to secure the piece of your choice)
Footprints in the sand is an 'appreciation walk' on the uplifting spring shoulder of our new summer.
It invites our senses to awaken to the current fluid rhythm of equal day and equal night, yet knowing that this rhythm will soon change tempo, as our day times lengthen.
Through film and art experience the magnificence of our extraordinary coastline in our very own region of the Channel, Cygnet, Huon and the Far South.
Engage your senses to feel the love and passion that our local artists exhibit, appreciate their intimate relationship with our coastal habitats and with their witness to our Shoreline's unique and sensitive way of responding to its changing tides and seasons.
Please enjoy this exposé of our own local artists, makers and musicians, poets and presenters, as they each share with us their extraordinary energetic relationship with it and their very personal commitment to its well-being, its sustainability and its recovery.
