Join us for a deep dive into the journey from short films to features, exploring the value of lived experience in creating a meaningful connection with your audience. Jonathan Ogilvie, Benji Menday & Tatjana Hamilton will share their first-hand experiences with putting together unique and personal films, giving practical tips to leverage the resources you have available to make your project.
Jonathan Ogilvie is a prolific writer/director whose short films have twice been selected for Official Competition at the Cannes Film Festival and his film LONE WOLF was nominated for an AACTA for Best Indie Feature Film. Jonathan is also an Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) alum and lecturer. His latest feature film HEAD SOUTH is screening at Revelation Saturday 6th July and Thursday 11th July at Luna Cinemas Leederville.
Benji Menday & Tatjana Hamilton are recent graduates of AFTRS who developed and produced the powerful and raw BOTTLENECK as their graduation project which screens at Revelation with POWER ALLEY Thursday 4th July and Thursday 11th July at Luna Cinemas Leederville.
This session will be moderated by Cathy Henkel, Director of the WA Screen Academy at Edith Cowan University. She worked as a documentary producer/director and writer for over 30 years and is founding director of Virgo Productions. Her work is focused on inspiring, positive, global stories with cross-platform delivery, engaging audiences through cinema, television, online and education platforms.
