Event description

Shotokan Karate-do International Federation (SKIF) 2024 International Seminar, Tokyo, Japan (29 March - 31 March 2024)

Following the successful post-COVID pandemic return in 2023, this great fixture in the international calendar for SKIF karate-ka returns in 2024!

Join fellow SKI Australia karate-ka and from the SKIF world for top class international training led by Kancho Nobuaki Kanazawa (SKIF Head of Federation) and Shuseki Shihan Manabu Murakami (SKIF Chief Instructor) and supported by Honbu Dojo Instructors and Karate Masters from around the world.

The stated objective of SKIF in hosting this seminar is:

"To improve and unify the techniques of SKIF members in Japan and overseas while providing the opportunity for members to interact and build friendships."

But that's not all:

SKIF YUDANSHA KAI TRAINING AT HONBU - will host training sessions at SKIF Honbu on Thursday 28 March (SKIF YDK members only and subject to space limitations). See www.skifyudanshakai.com for further details; and

- AUSTRALIAN DELEGATION DINNER - The Australian delegation will have our traditional welcome dinner in the Kamata area (TBC) on Friday 29 March; and

- INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR DINNER - Official dinner function for all participants on Saturday 30 March to be held at the Omori Sports Center; and

- CHERRY BLOSSOM VIEWING PARTY (HANAMI) - Monday 1 April from 12:00 – 14:00 (will be cancelled in the event of rain). Along the bank of Tama River (an approx. 10-minute walk from Unoki Station). Meet at 11:30 in front of Unoki Station on the Tokyu-Tamagawa Line. Early April in Tokyo is when the cherry blossoms are usually in bloom. We encourage you to take part in this event, relaxing among the cherry blossoms while enjoying drinks, snacks (BYO) and conversation with your karate friends old and new.

So it is time to visit or re-visit one of the great cities of the world and a hot destination for Australians in 2024. It will be Springtime in Japan!
