Description

Join us on a journey to discover your unique gift and share it with the village in this community celebration of artistic expression.

Bellingen locals Hamzah Mas, Nathan Meola, and Troy Rogers host Show & Tell - A delicious jam where your creative expression is welcomed.

We live in a beautiful and vibrant little town filled with incredibly talented artists, poets, storytellers, musicians, dancers, and performers of every kind. Show & Tell is an opportunity to discover your gifts and share them from the stage in a well held container.

Whether you are a seasoned performer, a baby artist, or feel you don't have a creative bone in your body you are welcome just as you are. Step up on stage, join in on some improv games, or heckle from the audience. How you participate in this fun and interactive evening is entirely up to you.

There will be a live and immersive storytelling adventure woven throughout the evening, along with improv games, musical jam, and an open stage where you can bring your gifts to share with the village - whether it be a poem, a story about a special item, an interpretive dance, or an authentic expression that is dying to be seen.

Anchored by an ancient tale, this improvised show is sure to ignite your mythic imagination and spark your creative flame.

Storytelling meets psychodrama at the crossroads where improv comedy and contact dance collide, culminating in a collaborative musical jam celebrating community, connection, and creativity.

This is more than just a performance, this is an opportunity to share your gifts with community.

Bring your instruments, poems, stories, songs, and your unique gifts to share.

About Your Hosts:

Troy Rogers is a performer who stretches his limits in the creative expression. Dancer, singer, actor, poet, writer, producer, model, steel worker. And why shouldn't he be. Vulnerability is important to Troy, he has found it to be a useful tool to find power in performance and healing. Catch him locally and touring in various creative exploits.

Nathan Charles Meola is a storyteller, intuitive bodyworker, and master of ceremonies from Sydney, now calling Bellingen home. He has studied with and been influenced by a lineage of renowned storytellers and teachers including Martin Shaw, Robert Bly, Michael Meade, James Hillman, Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Marion Woodman, and Stephen Jenkinson.

Nathan began telling stories through the mythopoetic men’s movement, using myth, fairytale, and ceremony to help men and boys navigate grief, descent, and renewal. He has hosted many story circles and community gatherings, always with reverence for the old stories and their power to awaken the imagination, heal wounds of the soul, and repair culture.

Hamzah Mas is a multi-disciplinary artist integrating Movement, Music and Theatre Practices to connect us together in the realms of storytelling. He seeks to tap us into the depth of mindful play through attunement, listening and collective embodiment.
