SHP Clinical Trial Symposium Testing for Success – Celebrating Clinical Trials Excellence
Event description
It is estimated that at any time, more than 1000 clinical trials are being conducted across Sydney Health Partners.
Clinical trials provide an essential link between basic scientific research and the eventual translation and implementation of discoveries and evidence into routine clinical care. Clinical trials can drive improvements in patient care and patient outcomes, as well as supporting staff retention and work satisfaction.
But what are the factors that contribute to the successful conduct of clinical trials in our health services, and what general lessons can we learn about effective research translation from our most impactful trials? What do we need to do to position ourselves for successful clinical trial activity in the future? What changes are occurring that may require different ways of working?
On September 25, Sydney Health Partners will host its inaugural clinical trial symposium. Testing for Success – Celebrating Clinical Trials Excellence will bring together leaders in clinical trials design, operation and innovation to share their insights on what works in clinical trials, what doesn’t, and how we can improve our clinical trial competitiveness.
The program has three broad sections:
- The positive impact of clinical trials evidence on health care and patient outcomes
- Emerging innovations in clinical trial methodology and design
- Positioning ourselves for even more clinical trial success in the future
This half-day event is targeted at clinical trial leaders, health service executives, and other persons interested in clinical trials and their use in health care - including patients and consumers.
