Shrek The Musical rehearsals are in full swing for our adult cast members! And now it's time for our talented children to join in the fun. This audition process is for children aged 10 and above.

In this audition, the children will learn a short dance, script and song and then audition in a group setting. No need to prepare anything prior but have a listen to 'Freak Flag' from the show. We ask that parents/carers please stay for the duration of this process.

Creative team members will be assessing children throughout the afternoon session and will decide which children are suitable to join the Shrek ensemble. PLEASE LET CREATIVE TEAM KNOW IF YOU DO NOT GIVE CONSENT FOR YOUR CHILD TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED/VIDEOED DURING AUDITIONS

It is important for parents and carers to carefully review the rehearsal schedule attached below, and know that, if their child is successful in securing a place within the ensemble, children must attend all scheduled rehearsal dates and be present at every night of tech week and all shows. There is a membership fee ($15 per child) and production levy fee ( Single Adult: $100 Single Youth (Under 18): $60 2 Youths (Under 18): $110 3 Youths (Under 18): $150 1 Adult/1 Youth (Under 18): $150 1 Adult/2 Youths (Under 18): $180 Whole family: $220)

It is also expected that a parent/guardian of each child will be available throughout the rehearsal schedule, during tech week and within the shows. This may be; volunteering with supervision of children, help with cleaning and organisation of the town hall and anything else where help is required. A PARENT/CARER IS EXPECTED TO STAY AND BE PRESENT FOR BUMP OUT FROM TOWN HALL FOLLOWING COMPLETION OF SUNDAY 24TH SHOW. Parents/carers who can not fulfil their volunteering requirements may jeopardise their child’s ability to be involved in the show.

Show weekend is 22-24 August 2025 with three shows booked in for Friday 22nd evening, Saturday 23rd evening and Sunday 24th morning

It is possible that a fourth show, Saturday 23rd morning, will be added if ticket sales do well

This will be communicated closer to the show weekend, but please ensure you and your child are available for this time slot.
