shrishti/सृष्टि in residence at Extrasensory
Description
Shrishti/सृष्टि presents two shows as part of our residency at Extrasensory Space this July/August.
We are dedicated to the promotion of diverse experimental music, embracing improvised, notated, and electronic approaches to music-making.
We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Eastern Kulin Nation on whose lands we live, make, and share music. Sovereignty was never ceded; these lands, waters and skies always were and always will be Aboriginal Country.
Tues. 04/08/26, "Behind the scary door".
DOORS | 6.30pm
PART 1 | 6.45pm
This part of the event will take place downstairs in a roving, exhibition-style fashion that includes an intimate one-on-one performance (get your ticket now to ensure you don't miss out!) and a multimedia installation work.
PART 2 | 8pm
This part of the event will take place upstairs and will involve two drum sets, guitar, synthesiser and an array of electronics.
Fri. 07/08/26, "Flat out like a lizard drinking".
featuring Jessica Tanto
DOORS | 7pm
PERFORMANCE | 7.30pm
This performance will feature experimental sound and contact improvisation, lasting approximately one hour. Attendees will be invited to participate in the process to whatever degree comfortable and guidelines will be provided on the night.
We are offering a special discount if you register for both shows, so if in doubt, book for both nights!
Extrasensory is located at 649 Plenty Rd, Preston, and is a shoes-off venue, so be prepared for that! It's convenient to reach the space by public transport (route 86 tram), and there is limited parking available nearby for cars. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the space, the upper storey is only reachable by stairs; however, the downstairs part of the venue is fully accessible.
