Afternoon Shuffle Workshop + Back to the Dancefloor Party

You’ve probably seen the videos: quick feet, smooth transitions and dancers making shuffling look completely effortless. Shuffle has become a hugely popular dance and fitness trend across Facebook, TikTok and Instagram—and now you can learn the foundations for yourself.

Join us for a fun and supportive 90-minute workshop with Julie Walker. Whether you’re a line dancer wanting to add something new to your dance toolbox or you’ve never shuffled before, this workshop will break everything down into manageable steps.

Shuffle is a fantastic way to get moving. It offers a great cardio workout while developing coordination, rhythm, balance, footwork and musicality—and it feels much more like dancing than exercise.

YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Julie Walker is a Rhythm n’ Lines club member, Boot Stomp judge and one half of The AUNTIE$ alongside Jaeda Mapu.

What began as a fun dance partnership has seen Julie and Jaeda become the 2026 Hip Hop Unite NZ Masters Duo champions and qualify to represent Aotearoa at the Hip Hop Unite World Championships in Tauranga this October.

During the workshop, Julie will introduce the basic building blocks of shuffle, including the Running Man, T-step and simple transitions. Once you understand these foundations, you’ll be able to mix and match the movements, create your own combinations and freestyle to different songs.

No shuffle experience is needed. Come ready to learn, have a laugh and give something new a go in the welcoming RnL atmosphere.

BACK TO THE DANCEFLOOR PARTY - Separate ticket required

Come back that evening in your best ’90s, 2000s or Party Rock-inspired outfit for a fun dress-up dance party featuring line dancing, hip hop, pop, R&B and dance-floor favourites.

Everyone who attends the workshop will also have the opportunity to join Julie in a special group shuffle video during the party. It’s completely optional—but it will be a brilliant way to put your new moves together and show your support for The AUNTIE$.

Evening party: $20 per person

This event is a fundraiser supporting Julie and Jaeda—The AUNTIE$—on their road to the Hip Hop Unite World Championships in Tauranga, 29–31 October 2026.

Bring comfortable dance sneakers, a drink bottle and your willingness to give it a go.
