Event description

Bookings close at midnight on Saturday 25th June.

Join us for dinner and a presentation by Amber-Lee about the important work she has been doing to support women through their birthing journey and beyond, covering pregnancy, birth, postpartum, mental health and health issues related to reproductive health.

Amber-Lee manages a large online community called The Power of Birth, where she provides support, information and resources via a website and Facebook and Instagram groups.

Her mission is to eliminate the stigma surrounding perinatal mental health, female bodies and all aspects of motherhood. She also hosts a podcast "Can We Talk About This?", where she channels this energy into tackling taboo topics surrounding motherhood and the gaps in women’s health, weaving evidence based information and the woman's perspective together.

She has also organised a number of successful fundraisers for charities that support women, including PANDA and ABTA. Amber-Lee has a Bachelor of Psychological Sciences and is currently completing her Honours in Psychology and is a mother of 2.

Earlier this year she was a top 3 finalist in the 7News Young Achiever Awards for the Soroptimist International Women Empowering Others Award.

She says "While on maternity leave after experiencing Hyperemesis Gravidarum, birth trauma, postnatal anxiety and rage my journey was not what I expected, and at times very challenging. I am very passionate about women seeking support and using available resources to help them navigate and adjust to this new stage in life, all while loving yourself and embracing the rollercoaster ride, that is motherhood."

The cost for this event is solely your dinner selection, taken straight from the Club Beenleigh dinner menu.  If you do not see your preferred meal, please contact us and we will see if we can accommodate it.
