Si Mullumby - ROOM to MOVE - FREMANTLE
Event description
Si Mullumby – Room to Move – FREMANTLE
Room to Move starts with a workshop style voice and breath empowerment session lead by Si Mullumby. This focused opening transitions into an extended high-energy didgeridoo & drum tribal dance floor. Eventually It closes with a 15 minute on the floor didgeridoo sound experience.
Then there is chilled tunes and a moment to kick back and hang if desired.
The dance section is not guided in any way. This is all about free movement and free expression. It’s about stacking our good energy and unlocking new pathways in the world.
This a hybridized workshop / gig concept!
***Please come before the start time of 8.00pm***
Summary:
Si Mullumby helms the pirate ship of his didgeridoo and drum rig for yet another adventurous journey.
Wielding Didgeridoo & Drums, Spanish Guitar, Flute and voice, Si unleashes a rare form of musicality, an improvised maelstrom that spins the dance floor into atoms bouncing around in glee.
Opening with a focused breath and voice session to set the zero point of the experience this night is a resonant moment in time; an opportunity to polish our compasses, discard unwanted baggage, and kick on like there is no tomorrow.

About Si Mullumby:
As a younger man, Si quit studying medicine at the University of Western Australia to hitch-hike around this vast country and be a didgeridoo player before he even knew how to play the instrument.
Years later Si was the only non-indigenous didgeridoo player to be featured in the Sydney Olympics documentary about the origins of the didgeridoo, Yidaki. After this he was invited to Arnhem Land by a high elder for personal teaching.
Since then, Si has sold out recitals at the Sydney Opera House; was employed as the didgeridoo player for Cirque du Soleil; and at one stage was signed to the leading UK record label. His band Wild Marmalade has toured Europe & Japan many times & played the most significant festivals in the world including BOOM Festival (Portugal) many times over. Si has a strong global following.
Si now resides in Fremantle, where he combines drums, percussive flamenco guitar and naked voice alongside his uplifting signature style of didgeridoo playing.
One of the most respected didgeridoo players in the world, Si recently was a featured guest with Ludovico Einaudi in the final concert of his world tour at the Perth Concert Hall.
“A master of this beautiful instrument!” Ludovico Einaudi
“An astonishing solo player!” Cirque du Soleil.
