We’re so excited to invite your child to a very special day just for siblings
Brainwave Australia is partnering with Little Dreamers to host a Sibling Adventure Day, a fun active and supportive space where siblings can connect with others who truly understand what it’s like. This day is aimed at siblings aged 8-16.
This day is all about them.

Plenty of fun (and snacks!)

Siblings often play such an important role in their family, and this day is designed to give them time to be recognised, have fun, and feel understood alongside others who share similar experiences.
We’re so proud to be running this day in partnership with Little Dreamers, who share our passion for supporting young people in caring roles.

- Who is this event for?
This event is designed for siblings aged 8–16 who have a brother or sister living with a brain condition.
- Does my child need to attend with a parent/carer?
No this is a supervised drop-off program. Parents/carers are welcome to stay nearby if preferred, however the activities are designed to help siblings connect independently with peers.
- What supervision will be provided?
The event will be facilitated by staff and volunteers from Brainwave Australia and Little Dreamers.
We maintain appropriate supervision ratios throughout the day, and all staff/volunteers involved in the program hold relevant Working With Children Check.
- What is the purpose of the day?
Sibling Adventure Day is designed to:
Help siblings connect with others who understand their experiences
Build confidence and resilience
Provide a fun and supportive space just for them
Normalise the mixed emotions siblings can sometimes experience
- What activities will there be?
Activities include:
Team challenges and games
Indoor “Amazing Race” style stations
Group connection activities
A relaxed sibling workshop/discussion
Snacks and downtime
No sporting ability is required.
- My child is shy/anxious, is this suitable?
Absolutely.
Many siblings attending may feel nervous at first, and the day is designed to be welcoming, low-pressure and inclusive. Staff will gently support children to participate at their own comfort level.
- Will children be expected to talk about personal experiences?
No child will ever be pressured to share personal information.
The workshop section is designed to be gentle, supportive and age-appropriate, with optional opportunities for discussion and reflection.
- Will food be provided?
Yes light snacks and water will be provided.
Please let us know about any allergies or dietary requirements during registration.
- What should my child bring?
Please bring:
Comfortable clothes and enclosed shoes
A water bottle
Any medication your child may require
Everything else will be provided.
