Supported by Naarm’s Blood Lotus and Canberra’s enigmatic SAMATAR, expect a night that locates the limits of sub bass, delay-drenched raps, and synth euphoria.
Pulling in elements of industrial, experimental hip-hop, club and left-field punk, Ryan Fennis & Voidhood create an otherworldly sonic experience. Their latest album EXTENDER is a reflection on the ‘age of overstimulation’ drawing from Fennis & Voidhood’s experiences of digital immersion and navigating present-day dystopias. As members of the forward-thinking CONTENT.NET.AU label, they stand at the forefront of the nexus of rap and rave.
Somali-Australian artist SAMATAR will be bringing his unique blend of hip hop, post-punk, and electronica heard on his debut EP “ANTIHERO”. Exploring the intricacies of the human condition, belonging, identity and the diasporic experience, SAMATAR invites listeners on a transformative journey of introspection.
Blood Lotus will unveil tracks from her upcoming album slated for release on CONTENT.NET.AU in 2024. She constructs spectral worlds where the past and future collide in motion; intimate vocals flutter over shapeshifting beats, scaffolded by oscillating synths and glistening strings.
