UZISXAKIMBO x SIDEWAY

The past and the future of Canberra hc and punk converge. 

UzisXAkimbo sideway debut. We at UzisXAkmibo (we stole the name from World of Pleasure) started putting on shows for the love of Canberra, and the unique and passionately fierce hardcore scene we foster. We aim to put on shows more frequently especially with the recent rise of many new Canberra hardcore and adjacent bands, through whatever means necessary. 

The lack of an all ages scene was a struggle for younger people in the scene such as ourselves, and when there were all ages shows, our mosh styles were frowned upon, leading us to put on our own shows where we could cultivate the culture that we wanted to see.

Inspired by the likes of Lacklustre Records (bigup Mr G/Leekspin), we are passionate about the d.i.y scene but also utilising the venues that are accessible to us, like Sideway (shoutout Aaron). We hope to see you on Saturday the 16th of December featuring some of the Capital’s freshest bands. 

This event is taking place on stolen land. We acknowledge the Ngunnawal, Ngunawal, and Ngambri peoples as owners and that their sovereignty was never ceded. Always was, always will be.
