For the first time in 2023 the ASPERA Conference and the Sightlines Festival and Symposium will be run back-to-back in a packed three-day event in Adelaide, South Australia.

The University of South Australia’s Creative People, Products and Places Research Centre (CP3) in collaboration the Australian Screen Production Education and Research Association (ASPERA), is pleased to announce the fourth Sightlines festival to be held from June 29-30 in Adelaide, South Australia.

Flinders University in collaboration with the ASPERA, is pleased to host the 2023 ASPERA Conference.

Sightlines 2023 will be part festival and part symposium. It continues to have two main purposes: to showcase the full range of screen production that occurs in the higher education sector; and to contribute to the development of screen production as an academic research discipline. The focus of this event will be screenings and demonstrations of screen-based creative practice research (showcasing completed works and works in-progress), drawing in practitioners working with an array of platforms and methodologies.

The ASPERA conference is an opportunity for member delegates, academics and practitioners working in the field of screen production education and research to showcase recent successes, discuss examples of innovative work, and share insights on a range of pertinent issues. The conference is both a chance for networking between aligned academics and an important part of ASPERA’s program to build research capacity and strong pedagogical frameworks for the screen production education and research sector. The 2023 Conference is focused on responding to the question - What does the future look like for Screen Education and Research?
