Over the last two decades, Dr Samra has pioneered workplace psychosocial safety, establishing both the world’s first assessment framework and National Standard and, in turn, shaping global policy and ongoing advancement.
In 2007, she led the development of Guarding Minds, the foundational framework for identifying and measuring psychosocial safety hazards, which, as the first of its kind, has become the blueprint for psychosocial safety management around the world.
As a founding member of the CSA Technical Committee, she was instrumental in the development of Canada’s National Psychological Health and Safety Standard in 2013 and, more recently, the ISO 45003:2021 Guidelines for Managing Psychosocial Risks.
