Painting on silk with Helen Moon
Description
Paint on silk this summer with textile artist Helen Moon.
Using dyes on a length of crepe de chine silk, you will enter the world of colour on textiles, while quietly observing the movement and patterns you create.
Helen will show you how to use specific liquid dyes with paint brushes to create your design and layered colour combinations. Techniques and processes include wax resist, adding gutta to the dye, salt, drying off and repainting.
Your completed work can be worn as a wrap or hung on the wall as textile art.
About the artist
Helen's textile practice commenced in the late 1980's. Since then, she has exhibited and sold her work in galleries throughout South Australia. She has been teaching silk painting workshops for many years and loves sharing the joy of silk painting with the community.
