Event description

SILOBRATION: UNDER THE STARS – Where Music & Art Collide.

Blurring the line between visual art, music and projection.

Celebrating the opening of Australia’s newest open-air entertainment venue, SILOBRATION UNDER THE STARS commences at 4pm on Saturday the 2th of April. The afternoon starts with a showcase of local performers playing alongside Avoca’s now famous Silo Art. Sit back, relax and enjoy local performers Kailee Rose, Jeremy Beggs & Band, Rachel Clark, Marcus Cassells & The Baha Collective and Flynn Gurry as we make our way towards sunset. As dusk approaches, a ceremony announcing completion of the Avoca Silo Project (funded through a Victorian State Government grant) will take place, followed by a Visual Art Display projected onto the Avoca Silo.

Directly beneath the projection, the sound stage will blur the line between visual art and music as The Jimmy Cupples Band, The Badloves and Kate Ceberano provide the soundtrack to a showcase of works by the internationally acclaimed artist Yandell Walton, displayed directly alongside the mural art of Warrnambool artist Jimmi Buscombe. The Barking Owl that now adorns the Avoca Silo is the world’s first painted silo displaying a night time art feature that is based around glow in the dark paint.

Ticket holders, seated on a grassed area directly in front of the stage, can enjoy refreshments from a range of food & dessert trucks, enjoy a hot beverage or sip on a local craft beer or wine from our pop-up bar.

Known as the Barking Owl Creative, the venue at 2 Station Street Avoca will transform into an outdoor event space that can host open air movie nights, drive in movies, visual display’s, live music and performance arts, all in the heart of Avoca.
