Felicia Atkinson & Lisa Lerkenfeldt
Event description
Through the lush sounds of her Fender Rhodes, field recordings, and speech in both French and English, Felicia Atkinson brings a unique experience of stretching and folding time in-place to Miscellania Club in Melbourne. She has been renowned for her works on her label (co-run with Bartolomé Sanson) and has collaborated with musicians including Jefre Cantu-Ledesma, Chris Watson, Christina Vantzou and Stephen O’Malley. Atkinson has also performed at venues and festivals including INA GRM/Maison de la Radio and the Philharmonie (Paris), Volksbühne (Berlin), the Barbican Center (London), Le Guess Who (Utrecht), Atonal (Berlin) Issue Project Room (NYC), Henie Onstad (Oslo), Unsound (Krakow), and Skanu Mesz (Riga).
Atkinson will be supported by Melbourne sound artist Lisa Lerkenfeldt.
Her endless piano and tape loop variations dissolve time through collages of decayed ambience, analogue manipulation and cyclic structure. Informed by patience and a tactile elegance, Lerkenfeldt has been working with extended durations andelectroacoustic techniques since her debut A Liquor Of Daisies on Shelter Press in 2020.
Curated by Silver Tape.
