    Event description

"Great southern locals Simon London + the Spirits are hitting the road again for the release of ‘Clonazepam’ their next single taken from their fourth album Don't You Forget About Me.

The album - with glowing reviews from critics - has re-established Simon London + the Spirits as a standout south-coast act, producing premier music and renowned for their powerful live shows.

Recently reformed in late 2021 after a long spell, Simon London + the Spirits didn’t waste any time pushing out their fourth album and hitting the road through WA. Big sweeping soundscapes, soaring melodies, intimate and compelling song writing; the new line-up has a chemistry all of its own.

London’s musical career has spanned the globe, his award-winning songwriting seeing him touring and recording around the world, playing iconic venues (such as LA’s Roxy, Whiskey Au Go Go, House of Blues) in the US, Canada & Europe, working with iconic artists at home and recording in studios around the world.

While the Spirits’ three musicians are ever servants of the song - whether it be beautiful ambience, driving rock or gritty blues - the band don’t fit neatly into genres but instead let the song and the moment take them and you, where it will. While the new album has been enjoying some national airplay, it’s really only on the live stage where the power of this three-piece can truly be reckoned.

Clonazepam, the latest single, will be available through all streaming platforms later this week. The song delves headlong into the difficult world of benzodiazepine addiction and withdrawal, laying bare some of the ugly realities of what is an increasingly common issue.

"This latest album (Don't You Forget About Me) is a master stroke… Extraordinary vocal prowess... his voice is an anthemic powerhouse that swirls and builds and can lift the roof off any venue. But then he just as easily talks you down and delivers achingly beautiful lyrics up close and personal, sounding just as poised as if you're sitting side-by-side...sharing confidences." Katia Smith: Gold MX

London has played with or supported a whole host of Australian musicians, including the likes of The Waifs, Steve Kilbey (the Church), The Cruel Sea, Dave Graney & the Coral Snakes, The Stray Sisters, John Butler, Eskimo Joe, Xavier Rudd and Jeff Lang to name a few..."
