Sing Hey for a Bear!
Event description
This January Wayfarers Australia will again delight South Coast residents and visitors with music theatre workshops and performances. The 34 performers, aged 5 to 79, will be directed by Judith Clingan AM, assisted by her daughter Jess Dixon, a drama teacher and visual artist, and three young adults who have been performing with Judy since their childhoods. These young people will look after lighting, stage management, props and wardrobe.
Workshops and performances will be offered in four towns:
Bodalla Wednesday 17th
Cobargo Thursday 18th
Bermagui Friday 19th
Tilba Saturday 20th
Each day will offer the same program:
Mornings 10.00 – 11.00 am: a music and drama workshop for children aged 7-11 based on A.A.Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh stories, during which they will learn two songs, and be offered the chance to take part in the performance as Friends and Relations of Rabbit. (Ears and tails will be provided!)
Mornings 11.15 – 12.30: performance of Sing Hey For a Bear! - Judy’s version of the stories acted by both children and adults, with music written by Judy and Liam Waterford – a small orchestra (recorders, strings, clarinet and percussion) will accompany the singers.
