Singing+Dance+Instrument Workshops and Dance Party - presented by Folk Will Save Us
Event description
You’re invited to an afternoon of interactive workshops for singers, musicians, dancers, hand-clappers, foot-stompers, and yay’day’day’ers of all ages and abilities! Featuring world-class instructors, everyone will learn a new klezmer tune or two that you’ll be humming/playing/singing/dancing to long after the workshop and dance party ends! No Klezmer or Yiddish experience necessary.
Schedule
4:15 PM: Doors open
4:45 - 6:15 PM: Breakout workshops (Yiddish singing, Yiddish dance, Yiddish/Klezmer instrumental music)
6:30 - 7:30 PM: Community dance party (share what you learned in the workshops!)
Faculty
Teaching artists include internationally-celebrated Klezmer violinist Zoë Aqua and Singer/Songwriter/Accordionist Ira Khonen Temple.
Parking
Free parking is available in the surface lot off Zenith Avenue South. Free street parking is also available on Zenith Avenue South (West side of the street) and on both sides of W 36th Street. More info here: https://thebakken.org/visit
Accessibility
The Bakken Museum’s entrance faces Bde Maka Ska between W 36th Street and our surface parking lot off of Zenith Avenue South. The entrance has automatic doors and has no exterior or interior steps. It is approximately 150 feet from our parking lot to the entry doors.
There is a wheelchair available on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve a wheelchair in advance, please contact visitor services at (612) 926-3878.
Accessible and all-gender restrooms are located on both floors of the museum.
Restrooms are equipped with diaper-changing facilities.
