SIR presents Naarm POP-UP! 💗🔊🖤
SIR is an unapologetically inclusive techno party and safe haven for the LGBTQIA+ community, allies, and friends to love themselves and dance the night away to the sounds of techno in dark, loud, debaucherous spaces.
Born in Auckland’s queer underground, SIR has spent the last few years building a reputation for doing it right: music-first, exciting themes, and a dancefloor that’s shameless in energy and grounded on respect. What started as a house party has grown into a loyal community packing out nightclubs with lineups that pulled talent from across Aotearoa and internationally with past guest DJs from Paris, New York, Sydney, and Naarm.
Join us Friday, 20 March 2026 at New Guernica’s Attic for SIR’s first Melbourne event, not a rehearsal, but a proper taste of the standard, the sound, and the kind of crowd we’re here to gather.

Dress Code
Besides the top-shelf music, SIR is known for its visual appeal and the dress code is a big part of it.
This isn’t a strict costume theme. It’s a mood, a signal, a little question mark you can wear.
We’re not asking for perfection. We are asking for intention.
What we’d love to see you in
Rave and underground clubwear
Club-kid silhouettes, bold makeup, loud accessories
Kink and fetish (latex, leather, harness, mesh, lace, boots, chains)
Pink elements encouraged, but not mandatory
What is a deal-breaker
Plain casual street clothes: if you could be headed to the shops or after-work drinks in what you’re wearing, you’ve probably missed the brief.
No stress if you’re building the wardrobe. The fallback is pink or black, but make it nightclub, not weekday.
Coat Check
Coat check will be available at the venue: 1 item per person (bag or to hang on coat rack).
You can prepay at the price of $3 when buying your ticket by selecting add-on or pay $5 at the venue

We strive to create a safe space for everyone to express their authentic selves.
All genders, sexual orientations, body types and subcultures are welcome and celebrated at our events.
We don’t accept any discrimination or harassment in any form. Homophobia, transphobia, heterophobia, racism, sexism and other forms of discrimination are not tolerated at our events.
Consent is mandatory. People passed out or too affected by alcohol or other substances can’t give consent.
There is no dark room/play space at this event.
Watch out for one another and be kind. Treat others with respect and be respected.

The resale of your ticket at a price higher than the official purchase price from the authorised ticket agent Humanitix, or other SIR-authorised sale channels, is grounds for cancellation of your ticket without compensation.
The only valid tickets are those purchased or redeemed/transferred through Humanitix or other SIR-authorised sale channels.
Your photo may be taken by our official photographers and used in future promotional material unless you request otherwise.
Your email address may be collected so that we can contact you directly regarding SIR events. We will not pass your details on to third parties or send you emails not relating to SIR events.

X& (Naarm)
Genre nonconforming art chimera, transnational high priestexxx, dance floor oracle; X& has taken many forms and been called many names. Focussed on the goal of our liberation, X& harnesses the spirit of communal movement from Oceania to Europa to reshape the timeline. Sprouting in the grassroots drag, cabaret, and queer electronic music scene of Naarm(MEL) - their influences are global! Unbound from barriers like genre and gender; X& might invite you on a journey rolling through the emotional depths to the most relieving breaks - weaving vintage video game samples with classical scores, high femme vocal bangers to cosmic heights, returning to the dark throbbing beats they were raised on. This artist observes the folding of time with dancefloor psychology in order to cast spells. Their mixing is a love letters to the future and past, propounding the energies of community healing and creative freedom in order to terraform our collective future!
MBVR (Tāmaki Makaurau/Naarm)
MBVR – Melbourne-based DJ and co-founder of the Auckland queer techno phenomenon SIR – is a rising talent behind the decks. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant and boundary-pushing Berlin queer techno scene, MBVR has brought his electrifying sound to New Zealand’s hottest parties, including The Naked World, Blackout, Hypnosis, Tender Buttons, SIR, and more. Now, he’s dipping his toes in the Australian techno scene having performed at Poof Doof’s Red Rave, Extra Dirty (Sydney), Barba, and Hanky!. Known for cranking up the BPM and getting bodies hot and sweaty with his signature hypnotic tunes. MBVR isn’t afraid to slow things down either with deep, dirty basslines that makes you feel every thud. He loves reviving the sounds of the past and giving queer pop anthems a fresh, reimagined twist, blending punchy basslines, unexpected mashups, and camp classics. But no matter the tempo or the vibe, one thing is certain: MBVR will always give you a happy ending.

Late To The Party crafts genre-fluid journeys through techno, house, italo and beyond—each set shaped by the energy of the floor. Whether opening, peaking, or closing with intent, his performances unfold in layered blends, unexpected turns, and multi-deck mashups that blur the familiar and the obscure. He’s ignited dancefloors across Aotearoa and Australia, from headline sets at EXTRA DIRTY (Sydney) to packed rooms at Inflation (Melbourne) and staple venues like Whammy Bar, Il Brutto, and Neck of the Woods in Auckland since 2022. As co-founder of SIR, he’s poured heart, music, and an unapologetically inclusive spirit into every SIR edition, and collaborated with collectives and promoters across the board to support safer, more expressive dancefloors for all.
Elbain (Naarm)
Meet Elbain, a Naarm-born artist and a visionary force in Melbourne’s queer music scene. Known for curating a dynamic mix of chunky electro beats and fresh, progressive, sexy-inspired sounds, his music takes you on a journey into the sublime. Leaving you feeling alive, and deeply connected to the moment. Elbain’s journey began in the intimate, sultry underground spaces of Melbourne, where he first started playing and hosting raunchy after parties in a South Melbourne basement. Gaining traction fast, he soon brought his talents to queer parties all across Australia, including securing himself a residency spot at TROUGH events. His music has become a staple in these spaces, charged with raw passion and intensity, creating an atmosphere filled with electric energy that is ultimately uncompromising, unforgettable, and always full of heart. Music flows through his veins; for Elbain, it’s not just a career—it’s a way of life, an essential part of his existence. His ethos revolves around providing enlightenment and creating a higher level of conscious love, capturing that special feeling music brings to every experience.
