Naarm, we’re coming back for another round!

SIR is back for another round, and we’re bringing our friend Junior M from New York City for an intimate pop-up event!

On Friday 13 November, SIR takes over LCKR ROOM with Eric Della Bosca, Wiser and SIR co-founder Late To The Party joining the bill. We’re rather pleased with this little arrangement.

Following our March POP-UP and two GOOEY morning events we thought we were done for this year, but we’re just too excited to keep building SIR’s Naarm chapter. If you’ve joined us before, welcome back. If you’re SIR-curious, allow us to introduce ourselves.

We’re an unapologetically inclusive techno party and safe haven for the LGBTQIA+ community, allies, and friends exploring the full spectrum of techno and its delicious neighbours. Music brings us together; kindness, consent and respect make room for us to express ourselves. All genders, sexualities, bodies and subcultures are welcome.

SHAMELESS, INTIMATE, and RESPECTED. That’s how we like it.

Have not heard of or been to SIR yet? Check out the photo gallery and listen to the DJ sets on our website: www.slapitruff.com

The lineup

  • Junior M (NYC)

Junior M is New York-based musician, DJ and visual artist Marco Gomez. Moving across aggressive and euphoric techno, Marco’s work encompasses distinct production aliases and fluid DJ sets. Previous appearances include Berghain, Vienna’s Hyperreality and MoMA PS1. For this SIR appearance, the focus is techno and hard groove, drawing on the tougher end of that musical range.

  • Eric Della Bosca

Eric Della Bosca starts with a promise, to get you feeling inherently glamorous. Certified BARBA babe, and founder of Composta, Della Bosca is gonna show you the joy in unexpected combinations of sound, entering into a kaleidoscope of butterflies. From acid-laced electro, to punk-infused attitudes, you'll finish his set like you've just woken up from a euphoric dream, holding onto those last feelings of bliss. Love until failure, freedom abound; destiny, a horizon of hope ahead. Dance!

  • WISER

Naarm DJ, producer and DAZED HDT founder Wiser has a taste for the darker corners of electronic music. With house and techno in the mix, Wiser adds a little local mischief to proceedings.

  • Late To The Party

Late To The Party moves through techno, house, italo and beyond, shaping each set around the energy of the floor. Layered blends, unexpected turns and multi-deck mashups bring familiar favourites into conversation with more obscure finds. Previous appearances span Aotearoa and Australia, including EXTRA DIRTY in Sydney, Hanky in Melbourne, and Auckland venues Whammy Bar, Il Brutto and Neck of the Woods. As SIR co-founder, Late To The Party brings the same musical curiosity and commitment to inclusive, expressive dancefloors to both the booth and the party.

Dress with intention

Half the fun is getting dressed. The other half? We’ll leave that to you.

There’s no dress theme for this POP-UP, but rave, underground clubwear, kink and fetish are the brief. Think latex, leather, mesh, lace, boots and chains. Club-kid silhouettes, bold makeup and loud accessories are very welcome. Pink gets an enthusiastic yes, but isn’t mandatory.

Plain casual street clothes don’t meet the dress code. If your outfit could take you straight to the shops or after-work drinks, give it another look.

Building your wardrobe? No need for an expensive outfit. Start with pink or black and make it nightclub, not weekday.

Coat Check

Leave your layers with the UBQ coat check.

  • Prepay $3 by choosing an admission ticket labelled (+ COAT CHECK).

  • Or pay $5 at the venue.

CONSENT + RESPECT
