Event description
Sing It Sister! is a “singalong for sisterhood” all-genders International Women's Day event that celebrates the best of a feminist pub choir with the fun of femme karaoke to create a mass singing extravaganza promoting girl power! It seeks to #changethetune on women's human rights by driving real change in our community. Our MC for this innovative event is famous drag queen Bettie Rose who will lead us all in belting out iconic feminist songs, such as Aretha Franklin’s “RESPECT” and Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” with all our besties as we reclaim gendered space with positivity and power! Ticket sales go to Juno (www.juno.org.au) who provide support and advocacy to women, trans and gender diverse people and children across the homelessness and family violence systems in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. Tickets start at $30, but you can contribute whatever feels right, knowing that your support will make a real difference in your community. Please be aware that all attendees under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult. Parental guidance is recommended as some songs have explicit language.
