The Apron Project 2024: Sister Up Opening
Event description
SISTER UP: The Apron Project 2024 Opening with Hornsby Shire Council Mayor, Warren Waddell.
Please join us on Saturday evening to view a selection of Aprons that have been painted, stitched, beaded and sewn. All proceeds from The Apron Project Auction will be donated to the Tangentyere Women's Family Safety Group.
Together we have raised somewhere around $70-80k over the past ten years for Women's Community Shelters and since 2023 I have been working to bring the Apron Project to the Tangentyere Women's Family Safety Group in Alice Springs who has a close association with Women's Safety Services of Central Australia. The busiest women's shelter in the Southern Hemisphere.
We have been included in the 2024 Australian Design Centre - Sydney Craft Week at our beautiful Wallarobba Arts and Cultural Centre. The Aprons will be showcased, we will have aprons for sale plus raffle and on a couple of nights we will host sip & stitch and Devonshire teas.Â
This event is in partnership with the Lions Club of Hornsby Inc with special acknowledgement to Hornsby Shire Council of their support.
