    This event has passed Register

    Event description

The Sisterhood Series is exclusively for students in Years 10 - 12 and offers the chance to hear from inspirational alumni guest speakers.

The series typically runs over recess every Wednesday during Terms 2 and 3 in the Santa Maria College Boardroom in the McAuley Building.  However, please note this session will be held on a Monday.

We are pleased to welcome Nakita Harmon, a senior occupational therapist, to the eighth session of the Term 3 Sisterhood Series.

Nakita's journey into the field of occupational therapy began after graduating from Santa Maria College. Eager to pursue her dream, she enrolled in the Occupational Therapy (OT) program at Curtin University without hesitation. In 2019, Nakita furthered her experience with a study tour to China, immersing herself in the healthcare system and exploring traditional Chinese medicines. Shortly after, she secured a position as an Injury Management Advisor at Rio Tinto while awaiting her registration as an OT.

Her career then led her to Graylands Hospital, where Nakita gained valuable experience across the Acute Stream and Hospital Extended Care Stay Stream, honing her skills as a mental health clinician. Subsequently, she transitioned to the Fremantle Mental Health Service, where she worked in various pivotal departments, including the Assertive Community Treatment Team and the Assessment Treatment Team/Triage.

Nakita's dedication and hard work have paid off, culminating in her securing a senior OT position back at Graylands Hospital, reflecting her commitment to advancing mental health care through occupational therapy.

Come along to this session to hear Nakita share her valuable insights into the field of mental health occupational therapy.

Spaces are limited to 15 students per session, and registrations are essential - don't miss out on this valuable experience!

    Morning tea will be provided.
