Sisterhood Series 2024 - Tayla Pauley
Event description
The Sisterhood Series is exclusively for students in Years 10 - 12 and offers the chance to hear from inspirational alumni guest speakers.Â
The series runs over recess every Wednesday during Terms 2 and 3 in the Santa Maria College Boardroom in the McAuley Building.Â
We are thrilled to announce that Tayla Pauley, a Santa Maria alumna who's challenging norms in the world of heavy diesel mechanics, will be our guest speaker for the last session of the 2024 Sisterhood Series.Â
After graduating from Santa Maria College, Tayla initially pursued Agricultural Science at Murdoch University. However, she realised that this path wasn’t for her after a year. Determined to find her true passion, Tayla took a gap year and began working FIFO on a mine site in the Pilbara, driving dump trucks. This hands-on experience led her to discover a deep passion for working on big machinery, particularly in mining. This newfound interest drove her to apply for a heavy diesel mechanics apprenticeship.Â
Don't miss the chance to hear her inspiring story and learn how she found her true calling.Â
Spaces are limited to 15 students per session, and registrations are essential - don't miss out on this valuable experience!
Morning tea will be provided.
