Event description
Site Visit to 80 The Terrace – A Rare Look Beneath the Surface!
Kia ora koutou NAWIC Wellington whānau!
We’ve been offered a very special last-minute invitation to join our friends at NZIQS for an exclusive site visit to 80 The Terrace, on Thursday 30 October at 5.30pm, hosted by McKee Fehl. This project is one of Wellington’s most technically challenging seismic upgrades, right in the heart of the CBD.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Attendees will gain valuable insights into the structural enhancement methods being implemented and the practical challenges overcome in retrofitting an existing structure within the tight confines of the CBD. It’s a great opportunity to see how design intent meets real-world constraints — and to discuss lessons learned directly with the project team
DATE & TIME: Thursday 30th October, 5.30pm (assemble at 5.15pm for check-in)
VENUE: 80 the Terrace. Meet at the main lobby on the Terrace. No parking on site.
COST: FREE to NAWIC members, this event is limited to 10 people so please book your space consciously. Anyone is welcome to join NAWIC here.
POST EVENT: Join NZIQS at Bethel Woods for a social catch-up and networking.
PPE REQUIRED: Hi-vis and steel caps shoes, hard hat,
ACCESSIBILITY NOTE: This site visit is not suitable for those with low mobility.
You’ll have the chance to ask questions directly of the project team and connect with our QS colleagues; a fantastic learning and networking combo!
So if you haven’t got any Thursday evening plans then come along and join the crowd! If you’d like to attend, get in quick and register while there are spots available – we’d love to see some NAWIC faces there!
Please note: NAWIC is a voluntary organisation, committed to its obligations as a PCBU under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. Amongst other things, this requires NAWIC to take all practicable steps to eliminate, isolate or minimize hazards that our event attendees are exposed to. Health and safety is a shared responsibility.
