Sixteen Sounds of Consciousness: Awakening the Mātṛkā
Event description
Join Rachel Nokes for a one-hour session exploring the sixteen sacred sounds known as the mātṛkā—the subtle frequencies that measure out consciousness and are linked to the sixteen phases of the moon. In yogic tradition, these sounds are visualised as the petals of the viśuddha cakra (throat centre).
In this session you will:
✨ Gain a felt sense of how the Sanskrit letters are pronounced from the five main places of articulation in the mouth, called āsya—like rays of light.
✨ Practise voicing the sounds in a way that opens the space for deeper listening and learning.
✨ Leave with a sound practice that you can integrate into your daily routine
This webinar is for yoga teachers and practitioners who wish to deepen their relationship with Sanskrit sound and subtle practice. You’ll leave with practical tools to integrate the mātṛkā into your own sādhanā and teaching.
