Join us for the first sew-in day as we celebrate the launch the SJ Bunting Library! Over a coffee and biscuit, and alongside other like-minded community members, you will be guided through the art of bunting making, which you can borrow at a later date.

This is a community led initiative in which sewing enthusiasts of all skill levels can get together and create bunting from repurposed materials/fabric. This bunting can then be borrowed, for FREE, by residents for events such as birthday parties, Christmas, Halloween, school faction carnivals etc, therefore minimising the use of single-use disposable decorations such a balloon and streamers.

Why are we starting a bunting library?

• Repurpose textiles that would otherwise end up in landfill.

• Reduce waste from single-use plastic and paper decorations.

• Cost effective (FREE)

• Support local creativity.

• Strengthen the Shire’s local identity.
