SJ Bunting Library Sew-In day
Event description
Join us for the first sew-in day as we celebrate the launch the SJ Bunting Library! Over a coffee and biscuit, and alongside other like-minded community members, you will be guided through the art of bunting making, which you can borrow at a later date.
This is a community led initiative in which sewing enthusiasts of all skill levels can get together and create bunting from repurposed materials/fabric. This bunting can then be borrowed, for FREE, by residents for events such as birthday parties, Christmas, Halloween, school faction carnivals etc, therefore minimising the use of single-use disposable decorations such a balloon and streamers.
Why are we starting a bunting library?
• Repurpose textiles that would otherwise end up in landfill.
• Reduce waste from single-use plastic and paper decorations.
• Cost effective (FREE)
• Support local creativity.
• Strengthen the Shire’s local identity.
If you want to be kept up to date with all things SJ Bunting Library such as how and when you can start borrowing, please email Hayley.Calway@sjshire.wa.gov.au to be put on the Bunting Library mailing list.
