    Event description

    An upturned table.

    A melted candle.

    Discarded notebooks.

    A forgotten song.

Artifacts of our shared archaeology weave a disorienting tale of discarded worlds. We ask for meaning and meaning lands. We yearn for hope and hope comes. We beg for purpose and purpose we find.

Zen Zen Zo’s latest production, SKELTER, leads the audience through the landscapes of our forgotten worlds, challenging us to contemplate the narratives we construct and the myths we uphold. Weaving together storytelling, physical and visual theatre in Zen Zen Zo's hallmark style, SKELTER features a cast of 15 performers in a stunning site-specific location near Maiwar (the Brisbane River).

For over a decade Zen Zen Zo has finished each year with a one-night-only show to celebrate the year that has been.  In 2023 we are expanding this much-loved ritual and bringing the company’s 31st year to a spectacular close with two shows!

Join us on Saturday 25 or Sunday 26 November at sunset for a glass of wine and to witness Zen Zen Zo’s latest show, SKELTER.

SKELTER is part of Zen Zen Zo’s annual IN THE RAW Season, in which the company returns to its experimental roots to create new work in non-traditional theatre spaces. Past IN THE RAW shows (including Rebirth, The Tempest, Zeitgeist, Dracula, Sub-Con Warrior 1 & Those with Lucifer) have sold out, so early booking is advised.
