Sketching by Lake Ginninderra
Description
Sideways Social is a low-pressure way to get out and do something, alongside other neurodivergent folks. No pressure to talk - you can arrive a little late, walk or sit a bit apart, and leave whenever you need.
This time we start inside at Belconnen Arts Centre with about half an hour in the gallery, then move just outside to the lake foreshore to draw for the rest. Come at the start for the exhibitions, or a bit later and find us out by the water - either works. Look, get inspired, then sketch by the lake, or just sit and watch it. I'll bring the materials.
When: Saturday 5 September, 11:00 am-1:00 pm (first ~30 minutes in the gallery, then out by the lake)
Meet: Belconnen Arts Centre, outside the main entrance - from about 11:30 we'll be on the foreshore just outside. Look for me in my yellow wide-brim hat
Cost: $15 - covers me organising and being there, plus your sketching materials
Bring: something to sit on for the lakeside, a layer (spring by the water can be breezy), water, any sensory supports; I'll bring the sketching gear
Good to know: arrive late or leave early anytime, no need to chat. The centre is step-free with accessible toilets, and the foreshore path is flat and paved.
I'll be there the whole time as someone to go with.
