Description

Learn to use watercolour pencils to sketch historic buildings in your own style with artist Browen Whyatt.

This 3-hour workshop will commence indoors with a brief talk by Bronwen about observation, architecture, and sketching of a building's features.

We will then go outdoors to try our hand at sketching selected heritage buildings and their features within the FABRIK precinct in Lobethal.

You will observe their lines and features to achieve the unique look and feel of your chosen building.

By the end of the session, you will have brought the rich history of Lobethal's buildings to life in watercolour.

About the artist: Bronwen is a dynamic creative professional. A cellist and teacher, textile artist and sketcher, she has honed her visual art practice while travelling around France and Australia. Her whimsical watercolour sketches of historic buildings celebrate the exquisite features and details of architecture and bring their rich history to life.

In 2023 to 2025, Bronwen presented ‘Sketching Historic Buildings’ for the Macclesfield Creative Pursuits weekends and this year for the City of Prospect during SA History Month. She continues to produce cards and calendars from her hand-sketched images each year.
